Biography

I was born in Guadalajara, Mexico to an American Mother and Mexican Father. I Attended a bilingual elementary school and spent most of my time doodling and pretending my pencil was a space ship. My active imagination and lack of attention in class led to many parent teacher meetings to no resolve until I finally flunked 4th grade. The fear of being in the same grade as my younger brother inspired me to pay attention in summer school. I started 5th grade after that summer.

After my sixth grade year, my family moved to Las Cruces, New Mexico where I started middle school at Lynn Jr. High. I continued my doodling and drawings in art classes throughout Jr. High and High School. I graduated from Las Cruces High School in the top 10% of my class, with honors although admittedly I don't remember much other than art and drafting classes.

I continued my education at New Mexico State University where I obtained a Bachelor of Arts with a Double Major in Psychology and Art, indulging my imagination and analyzing it at the same time. I graduated in 1992 with Honors in the top 10% of my College.

Unprepared for the real world and longing for the ocean I decided I needed to make a drastic move and bought a one way ticket to the Hawai'i although I had never been there before. I Moved to Oahu in 1992 and currently reside in Honolulu where I continue to satisfy my passion for the ocean and the outdoors and discovered an addiction to surfing.

The natural beauty of the Hawaiian Islands continues to inspire my artwork and outdoor lifestyle.

If you could only smell the plumerias in the photographs!
